Drop-off is hard enough some mornings. Now imagine your child is also working on staying with the group, waiting their turn, or handling a change in the schedule, all without you there to help. That’s the gap daycare-based ABA is built to close.
We’re parents of a child with autism ourselves, and we started Spectrum Achievers because we kept running into the same problem: therapy that worked beautifully in a quiet room fell apart the second our own son walked into a room full of other kids. We started Spectrum Achievers because we lived that gap firsthand.
A daycare day asks a lot of a young child. Depending on your child’s goals, sessions might work on:
A BCBA starts by spending time getting to know your child’s actual daycare, not a generic version of “daycare,” but the real teachers, the real schedule, the real moments where things tend to go sideways. From there, a trained RBT works alongside your child during the day itself, in the classroom, not pulled out into a separate room.
The daycare teachers stay in charge of their classroom. Our team’s job is to support your child within it, and to make sure the strategies that work stick around after we leave for the day.
Group settings are unforgiving in a specific way: nobody’s watching just your child. If following directions, managing a meltdown, or keeping up with peers is a struggle, daycare is usually where that shows up first, often before it shows up anywhere else. Getting support into that exact setting, instead of only at home or at our center, tends to move things faster.
Families already working with Spectrum Achievers, whether at our Paramus clinic or through home-based sessions, don’t start over here. The same BCBA stays involved, and the goals carry over into the daycare setting instead of living in a separate silo.
We’re not there to run your child’s daycare or take over for the teachers. Daycare staff already have a full room. Our team shows up, works with your child directly, and hands off practical strategies the teachers can actually use once we’re gone, nothing that adds to their plate.
This tends to work well for kids already enrolled in daycare who are hitting a specific wall there, maybe the teacher has flagged something, or a transition period is proving rough. It’s not usually a replacement for center-based ABA on its own; most families see the best progress pairing the two. We’ll help you figure out what mix actually makes sense for your child rather than defaulting to “more is better.”
We’re not a franchise, and there’s no corporate office deciding how your child’s plan should look. One BCBA-led team follows your child across every setting they’re in, center, home, daycare, school, or out in the community, so nothing gets lost in translation between them. We don’t run a waitlist, and our Spanish-speaking staff means bilingual families aren’t left figuring things out on their own.
Right now we’re serving families within roughly a 30-minute drive of our Paramus clinic. That covers:
Not sure if your child’s daycare is in range? Just ask, it’s a quick answer for us.
Daycare-based ABA is covered by most major commercial insurance plans, including Aetna, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, and UnitedHealthcare. We confirm your benefits before services begin, and our Spanish-speaking staff can explain coverage in Spanish from start to finish.

Usually, yes. Most major commercial insurance plans cover daycare-based ABA when it is medically necessary. We walk through your specific coverage before anything starts.
No. That’s the whole point: support happens inside the classroom your child already knows, not in a separate room down the hall.
We do. It doesn’t work otherwise. Our BCBA or RBT stays in contact with your child’s teachers so strategies don’t fall apart the moment we’re not there.
Generally about 30 minutes from Paramus, covering most of Bergen County and a handful of Essex County towns. If you’re close to that line, reach out and we’ll check.
In most cases, yes, one BCBA stays involved across whichever settings your child is in.
Reach out through the application page or give us a call. We’ll look at your child’s daycare situation and current services, then a BCBA puts together a plan built around the actual day your child is having there.
